Super Mario World

Although Mario has always been a classic, it wasn't until Super Mario World until Mario truly became one of the greatest series of games ever made. This game included many new elements in the Mario series, including progress saving (which defeats repetitive gameplay), many new items and enemies, and plenty of unforgettable characters. Also new in Super Mario World was Yoshi. Yoshi added a whole new level of entertainment to the series, as he could run up walls, chomp enemies whole, and bounce on top of spikey enemies. This game was long and entertaining, had many secrets to unlock, and was truly well design. A real classic.
