Super Mario Galaxy - Welcome to Galaxy

by Haloman8 on March 18, 2010

Super Mario Galaxy I really like the 3D Mario adventures. Since Nintendo's first 3D console, Nintendo 64, Mario been having a big 3D adventure. Nintendo 64 has Super Mario 64, Nintendo GameCube has Super Mario Sunshine and Nintendo Wii has Super Mario Galaxy and its upcoming sequel Super Mario Galaxy 2. These are all great games! All of them have different themes. I´m gonna review Super Mario Galaxy. Let´s get this review started, shall we? The story is that every thousand year, there is held a special festival in the Mushroom Kingdom. The game takes place in this festival, where Princess Peach have invited her hero, Mario to eat a cake she baked for him, like in Super Mario 64. Anyway, Mario arrives just before Bowser ruins the festival and kidnaps Peach along with her entire castle. Mario almost stops Bowser, but gets knocked out by one of Bowser's Magikoopas. Later, Mario wakes up and finds out that he´s been saved by a little star who can turn into a bunny. The star tells Mario that if he helps his mother saving the universe, they´ll help him save Peach. In Super Mario Galaxy, players need to collect stars for Princess Rosalina, the princess of the universe. There are a total of 121 stars to collect and they´re all hidden at different places in different galaxies. After you collect them all, you get to collect all over again as Luigi, and Super Mario Galaxy turns into Super Luigi Galaxy. In other words, you´ll have plenty to do and spend a lot of time on the game, especially if you´re a completist. The controls in Super Mario Galaxy are so easy to use that your granny could play it. You control Mario with the Joystick, you make him jump with the A button, you dodge with the Z button and you attack by shaking the Wii Remote. Probably the easiest controls I've ever played with on the Wii. The controls are what makes this game so fun to replay years after you've completed it. The graphics are fantastic. And not just on the Wii, but this game would look great if it was on the PS3 or the XBOX 360 too. The levels are so well designed. It´s easy to say that this is the most well designed Wii game so far. Super Mario Galaxy 2 looks even more amazing when I look at the trailers. The music is also amazing in Super Mario Galaxy and every sound track fits each theme. You can find all the songs on YouTube if you search. Here´s my opinion: Story: 6.8 Gameplay: 10 Graphics: 10 Music: 9.9 Replay Value: 8.8 Charm: 7.1
