Rock Band 3 Might Use Project Natal Technology

Project Natal has been causing an enormous amount of buzz ever since it debuted at E3, and of course Microsoft isn’t the only company looking to cash in on the new Xbox technology. Apparently Harmonix, maker of the Rock Band franchise, is already looking into integrating the next installation of the Rock Band series with Project Natal.
The tip comes from Scott Guthrie, head of MTV Games, who told MCV that Harmonix is constantly trying to innovate in the great race with Guitar Hero.
"We aren't standing still," Guthrie said. "We will keep moving into new areas and look at new technologies that our platform holder partners are also developing, such as Project Natal from Microsoft. We're working with them to pull some things together."
Some things, huh? What kind of things, Scott? It sounds like an interesting effort, simply because one of the most important gimmicks of the band games is having plastic props in your hands to rock out with. Taking that away and replacing it with pantomimed motions in Project Natal seems like a hard sell. Who knows, though; it could add a whole new level to the US Air Guitar Championships.
