PSP2 Might Be More Powerful than Your Old Xbox

From the "Whoa!" and "No way" rumor mill comes news that the upcoming PSP2 might be pushing more video processing power than the original Xbox. In English: Remember the first time you played Halo? It could be that pretty, on a handheld, portable gaming device.

We're not talking about the PSPgo, but rather its rumored descendant, the PSP2. Think of the PSPgo as more of the snack that holds you over until Thanksgiving dinner. The PSP2 will supposedly have a GPU similar to the quad core GPU found in the iPhone 3GS. When it comes to gaming power, it's all about how many polygons per second a GPU can push, and this PowerVR GPU can push 133 million polygons per second. The original Xbox had similar graphics power.

I would be excited, but chances are I won't be able to afford it. It's Sony Playstation, and they haven't been affordable since the Playstation 2. More tech and gaming news is at your disposal here, and on our game review site.
