More Substantial Proof of a Slim PS3
Recent rumors of PS3 price cuts have spawned further speculation that a Slim PS3 is on the way. The latest rumor is Sony have "signed manufacturing agreements with both Foxconn and Pegatron to build the revised model in time for July delivery." But that's not all.
The really strange rumor now being circulated is that the Slim will be the last in the PS3 line, with a brand-spanking new Sony console -- based on their ice cream cone motion controller -- coming in Spring 2010.
So first we have Ballmer SNAFU'ing over Microsoft's "new" console for next year, and now the Sony fanboys are manufacturing similar stories. Come on guys, I won't believe that Sony would cut PS3's life cycle short of five years, let alone four, which is exactly what would happen if a next-gen Playstation came out next Spring.
Like MS and the probably Natal-360 bundle, Sony will sell the Slim PS3 bundled with its Good Humor Man controller next year. Maybe we'll learn something more at PAX...
