Blizzard Releases New Battle Report Video for StarCraft II

We were incredibly excited to get a Christmas present from Blizzard 4 months ago in the form of the Battle Report, a 20-minute video of a StarCraft II battle giving us a look at how the game plays. However, we quickly grew annoyed that we had to wait so long for another Battle Report. Of course, now that Blizzard Entertainment has posted the next Battle Report, all is forgiven. How can we hold a grudge when this one is at least 63 times better than the first? Check out the second Battle Report for yourself below.
While the first Battle Report was interesting, it was a little reserved and we didn't get to see a lot of interaction between the Terrans and the Protoss. The newest Battle Report, on the other hand, has a lot more skirmishes and let's us see the new Zerg units and a lot more of the Terran arsenal. Game balance designers Matt Cooper and David Kim go head to head with the Terrans and the Zerg on a new map called Blistering Sands.
This Battle Report did a lot more to give us an idea of how gameplay works in the latest StarCraft installment. The terrain sure is prettier and we're really excited about the implications of the brush and other terrain features that affect how much you can see. Should provide opportunities for some great ambushes.
While we really would have liked to see a Thor, it was nice to see the Nighthawks in action and get a better look at the Reapers. I was skeptical about the Nighthawks at first, but after seeing their Auto-Turrets and Hunter-Seeker Missiles I'm sold. The Zerg side showed us some great action with the hyper-regenerative Roaches and the explosive Banelings, both exceedingly cool, but we didn't really get to see what the new version of the Queen can do. I can't wait to see another Battle Report; maybe we'll get to see more of her. How bout a new one next week, Blizzard? Please?
