Jumpgate Evolution has been one of the most anticipated space mmorpgs for quite some time. In fact, it's been years. With some signing up as early as the beginning of 2007, 250k users doesn't sound quite as impressive. Still, maybe NetDevil has something up their sleeve, and I hope they do. The game is set to come out "by the end of the year," so hopefully all the heavy lifting is done and they are indeed "fine tuning" the game, meaning non-friends and non-family of NetDevil and Codemasters personnel will get to actually play the game.

If not, then I'd be surprised if they had half that many people signed up by January of next year, assuming there's a way to un-register. NetDevil added some more Jumpgate Evolution screenshots today, if you're in the mood.
